Congressional Black Caucus Mourns the Passing of Jacqueline Berrien

Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) Chairman G. K. Butterfield released the following statement on the passing of U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) former chairperson Jacqueline Berrien:

"Our hearts are deeply saddened to hear news of the passing of Jacqueline Berrien.  Ms. Berrien was a champion of civic engagement and equal rights and she dedicated the duration of her career to ensuring equal opportunity for all Americans. 

“The CBC is inspired by her dedication and work to protect some of our most vulnerable communities, and we extend our thoughts and prayers to her family at this difficult time.”
