Media Advisory: CBC and House Democratic Whip to Host Roundtable Discussion with Howard University Students on the Impacts of Sequestration on Minority Communities

CBC Chairman G. K. Butterfield (NC) and House Democratic Whip Steny H. Hoyer (MD) will host a roundtable discussion with students from Howard University on Tuesday, October 20, 2015, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  CBC Members Congresswoman Barbara Lee (CA), Chair of the Whip’s Task Force on Poverty, Income Inequality, and Opportunity and Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (DC) will also join the discussion on how cuts, particularly Pell Grants, will impact students.  The discussion will focus on sequestration and the disproportionate impact those arbitrary cuts have on minority communities
