On Thursday, July 25, 2019, the Congressional Black Caucus along with Members of the House of Representatives reached a bipartisan budget agreement with Senate leadership and the current Administration to increase discretionary funding limits for 2020 and 2021. This agreement represents a vast improvement over the harmful cuts presented in President’s 2020 budget.  Congresswoman Karen Bass, Chair of the Congressional Black Caucus issued the following statement in response:

“The bipartisan budget agreement is a bold step forward for Americans across the country because it is a reflection of our morals and values,” said Chairwoman Bass. “The full faith and credit of the United States should never be questioned because of vote to lift the debt ceiling. This agreement helps Democrats meet the needs of our community by investing into working families to advance the health, financial security and well-being of every American despite your background. The Black Caucus is proud to support this deal and urge the President to join our efforts to end the damaging effects of sequestration and advance progress for the American people.”
