WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Karen Bass, Chair of the Congressional Black Caucus issued the following statement on the passing of United States Court of Appeals Judge Damon J. Keith:
“Judge Keith was a civil rights icon who dedicated his life to the empowerment of African Americans across the country. Judge Keith was committed to helping future generations succeed and did so through his leadership, devotion and principle. His presence will be greatly missed but his memory will continue to thrive in all of us. I am saddened by his loss and offer my condolences to his friends and family.”
