“I’d like to thank Director Gambrell for nearly four-decades of public serviceand for her six years of leadership at the helm of the CDFI Fund. Director Gambrell has been at the helm of the CDFI Fund since 2007, after two decades of leadership at other financial regulatory agencies, and is one of the highest ranking African-Americans serving at the U.S. Treasury. Under her leadership, the CDFI Fund has significantly increased its investments into communities and organizations  that are helping African-American families and business owners access sorely needed capital.

“Since it was established in 1994, the CDFI Fund has allocated almost $2 billion to CDFIs, community development organizations, and financial institutions. t The CDFI Fund has also ensured that more than $36.5 billion in tax credit authority through the New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) Program was delivered to organizations committed to community investment and job creation.

“Due to Director Gambrell’s efforts, many African-American families across the country have been able to access safe, affordable housing, and African-American small businesses havebeen able to borrow and invest in ways that help create jobs in their communities. . Director Gambrell’s leadership has contributed to economic growth and improved quality of life in African-American communities across the country. On behalf of the Congressional Black Caucus, I  thank Director Gambrell for her service to our communities and we wish her the very best in the next chapter of her life.”
