Congressional Black Caucus Chair Marcia L. Fudge released the following statement after the Senate confirmed Anthony Foxx as Secretary of Transportation with a vote of 100-0:
“I am pleased Anthony Foxx was unanimously confirmed by the Senate as the new Secretary of Transportation. Investments in our nation’s infrastructure and transportation systems are critically important to increasing our global competitiveness and to creating opportunities that will help put people back to work and get our economy back on track.
“Secretary Foxx has a proven record of leading innovative and large-scale transportation projects, and I know his experience will serve him well in this new role. I congratulate Secretary Foxx on his confirmation and we look forward to working with him to address our nation’s transportation and infrastructure needs.”
